Richard David Bower Beatton was born in Wallaroo, SA on the 30th of October 1873. His parent was Frances Charlotte Beatton. Before Beatton enlisted in WW1 he worked as a lineman in the telegraph department. Richard David Bower, Beatton had a sister that is known, it is not known if he had any other siblings.
According to the service papers Beatton was 5 ft 8 ¾ Inches tall, weighed 159 lbs, and was 41 and 11 months when he first enlisted in Wallaroo. According to the service papers Richard David Bower, Beatton’s Religion was Church of England.
Beatton was stationed with the 13th Field Company Engineers.
