My Great Uncle Conrad was of Franco-German and Greek descent. Born in Ballarat , Victoria in 1893 he died in 1958 leaving a vast quantity of manuscripts revealing a master at work. There is a total of 82 compete compositions and several unfinished works.

Son of Gustave George Zilles and Hannah Catherine Zilles nee Mitaxa of Talbot Street, Ballarat, Victoria.

Brother of Charles Henry Zilles who returned to Australia on 5 September 1919 having served with the 24th Battalion and George Stephen Zilles who returned to Australia on 17 April 1919 having served with the 38th Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 12 May 1919 aboard HT Port Napier disembarking on 2 July 1919
