OBITUARY
MR. W. G. MEDLING,
SCOTTSDALE
The death occurred at the Launceston General Hospital last night, after a short illness, of Mr. W. G. Medling, Scottsdale. For the past six years Mr. Medling had been Scottsdale manager of the Commercial Bank of Australia. Before going to Scottsdale he was manager for the bank at Stanley and at Elsternwick (Vic.).
Mr. Medling was a member of the A.I.F in the First World War, and during the last war was an active member of the V.D.C., being platoon commander with the rank of lieutenant.
Mr Medling was a highly respected resident of Scottsdale and took an interest in many of the district's activities. He leaves a widow, two daughters Beryl (Mrs. B. Dinham, Scottsdale) and Shirley, and a son, John, in the Agricultural Department, Launceston.
FUNERALS
MR. W. G. MEDLING
The funeral of Mr. Walter Gordon Medling took place at the Ellesmore Cemetery, Scottsdale on Saturday afternoon. The service at the graveside was conducted by Rev. J. E. Atkins and the R.S.L. service by Mr. G. Parsons, past branch president.
Chief mourners were Messrs. John Medling (son) Charles Medling (brother) Brian Dinham (son-in-law).
Pallbearers were Messrs. J. F. Kalfboll, A. Atkinson (Commercial Bank), L. E. Harris (R.S.L. and V.D.C.) and R. Foster.
The Commercial Bank of Australia, for which the late Mr. Medling was Scottsdale manager, was represented by the managers and staff of the north-eastern branches.
