Patrick Sinclair Anderson and and his younger brother, James Anderson
Two of five sons of John A. Anderson and his wife Mary, of Newstead South Station, Inverell, New South Wales
Patrick was educated at The Armidale School and attended the School of Mines in Ballarat. Worked as an engineer for several years before returning to Newstead to work with his father.
Enlisted in October 1914 and was also a Second Lieutenant with the 4th Battalion.
He was badly wounded at Gallipoli on 26 April 1915, gunshot wounds to the abdomen, and evacuated to 15th General Hospital at Alexandria where he died on noon 30th April 1915. Patrick was buried at Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria.
In November 1915, the London Gazette listed Patrick as Mentioned in Despatches for conspicuous service. He was the first Old Boy of The Armidale School to be killed in the war
James enlisted in Sydney in September 1914 and was appointed Second Lieutenant. He transferred to the 56th Battalion and in 1917 was Brigade Major of the 16th Battalion. He served in Egypt and France. He was awarded the Military Cross in 1915; mentioned in Despatches in 1916, and awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1919. James was demobilized in England in July 1919 and returned to Australia

Son of : John and Mary ANDERSON, Newstead, Inverell, New South Wales. Commemorated in a stained glass window in The Armidale School Chapel unveiled 10 September 1916, donated by his father John A. Anderson
After secondary education he attended the School of Mines, Ballarat, Victoria; worked as an engineer for several years before returning to Newstead to work with his father. He was the first Old Boy of The Armidale School to be killed in the war
