Biography contributed by Evan Evans

From Gary Mitchell, Sandgate Cemetery

Served during The Great War, now resting at Sandgate Cemetery.

71 years ago today, on the Tuesday morning of the 30th January 1951, Private Lambert Charles Seers, 30th Battalion (Reg No-2758), labourer from Bunnerong Road, Kensington, New South Wales and 34 Samdon Street, Hamilton, N.S.W., was laid to rest at Sandgate Cemetery, age 70. PRESBYTERIAN-A14. 57.

Born at Stockton, New South Wales on the 8th March 1880 to Lambert and Elizabeth Ann Seers of Roxburgh Street, Stockton, New South Wales; husband of Edith May Seers nee Keddie or Davies (married 1935, Hamilton, N.S.W., died 1955, sleeping here; possibly married to Elizabeth Ann Sears nee Wellings, married 1899, Stockton, N.S.W., died 21.3.1910, C. of E. Stockton Cemetery), Lambert enlisted February 1916 at Liverpool, N.S.W.

Admitted to hospital - 30.11.1916 (trench feet, mild).

Lambert returned home August 1919, being discharged on the 20th September 1919.

Mr. Seers’s name has been inscribed on the Stockton Soldiers' Memorial (unveiled on the 25th April 1922, 272 names inscribed, 65 Fallen) and the Stockton St. Paul's Anglican Church Honour Roll.

There is no indication inscribed on Lambert’s headstone plaque of his service with the 1stA.I.F., so I have placed poppies and a 1914-1918 WAR label in remembrance of his sacrifice for God, King & Country.

Contact with descendants would be greatly appreciated.
