PTE. T. C. CROWL
West Footscray has sent many soldiers to France. Last November Pte. Theodore Clarence Crowl, well known as "Curly." second son of Mr and Mrs Crowl, of Alexander street, heard the call. He joined  the 29th Battalion, and after a time in Egypt went to France. He was in many of the encounters, and with the rest of the Anzacs did his bit. On December 7 he fought his last fight, and fell mortally  wounded. Before enlisting he was working as a quarryman. He was a native of Ballarat and 23 vears of age. "Curly" was one of the pillars of the Rising Sun Football Club. An elder brother, Bert, is still fighting in
France.
