Son of John O'Donnell and Margaret O'Donnell nee Deveney of Geraldton, WA.

Husband of Mary O'Donnell nee Liddington of Duke Street, West Perth, WA. John and Mary married during 1914c in WA. 

Commenced return to Australia on 17 March 1917 aboard HT Beltana disembarking on 5 May 1917
