Harold Osborne GIBSON was the son of Robert Alfred GIBSON and Eleanor Evelina Lucy GIBSON (nee DOVEY).

Harold was the nephew of Frederick George Harold DOVEY who served in World War I and was taken Prisoner of War, but returned to Australia in 1919.

Harold was also the nephew of Reginald Walter DOVEY who served at Gallipoli, Egypt and France, and was Killed in Action in woods near Hamel, on 4 July 1918.
