N814 Major George Sydney Dowe (1896-1949). Born at Tenterfield. Grazier. Served in 14th MG Coy & 5th MG Battalion in the Great War. Suffered GSW to chest in July 1918. Joined the 12th LHR in 1921. After his appointment as the CO of the 12th Motor Regiment (with temporary rank of LTCOL) ceased Major Dowe was posted to the HQ of bases at Casino and Muswellbrook, before being placed on the Reserve of Officers List in November 1943. He died suddenly in 1949.

Served in the 14th MG Coy & 5th MG Battalion in the Great War. Suffered GSW to chest in July 1918.
Joined the 12th LHR in 1921.
Appointed as the CO of the 12th LHR in January 1940.
After his appointment as the CO of the 12th Motor Regiment (with the temporary rank of LTCOL) ceased Major Dowe was posted to the HQ of bases at Casino and Muswellbrook, before being placed on the Reserve of Officers List in November 1943.
He died suddenly in 1949.
