Commenced return to Australia on 2 March 1919 aboard HT Derbyshire disembarking on 17 April 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane

On 26 November 1920 Michael married Katherine Colina MacPherson in QLD

Post war Michael was employed with the Gin Gin Shire Council, QLD
