The 75th name inscribed is Private John McLeish.

I do not know when John died, or where buried or ashes interred, or if he ever married, so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Private John McLeish, 35th Battalion (Reg No-7774), single labourer from Minmi, New South Wales, born on the 27th April 1898 to Daniel, died 29.4.1910, West Wallsend, N.S.W., age 49, buried at Minmi Cemetery, N.S.W., unmarked grave?, and Barbara McLeish nee Strang, died 12.4.1906, Murwillumbah, N.S.W., age 44, no funeral notice located, sleeping at Tweed Heads Old General Cemetery, sister Miss Mary McLeish, born 1884, Minmi, N.S.W., from Tumulgum, Tweed River, N.S.W.

John enlisted on the 27th August 1917 with the 3rd Battalion, age 19 years 4 months, at Newcastle, N.S.W.

Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A71 Nestor on the 28th February 1918.

Disembarked Liverpool, England 20.4.1918.

Admitted to hospital 25.5.1918 (measles).

Taken on Strength 35th Battalion 1.7.1918.

Proceeded O/Seas to France from Folkestone, England 22.7.1918.

Wounded in action - 22.8.1918 (SW right shoulder).

Commenced return to Australia 22.7.1919.

John arrived home on the 5th September 1919, being discharged on the 27th September 1919.

Not officially commemorated.

John’s name has also been inscribed on the Minmi St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Roll of Honour.
