Eileen was the youngest of five children of Thomas Denis Molloy (b1877 in Dalby, QLD) and Agnes Gertrude Ryan (b1875 in Raymond Terrace, NSW). Thomas (a Labourer) and Agnes married in 1903 in Ipswich, QLD. They lived in Toowoomba, where Thomas worked as a Machine Driller and Mechanic before enlisting in the AIF (Trooper; Service No:2304) in 1915. The family later lived in Ipswich before relocating to Maryborough in the early 1920s - Thomas worked as Machine Driller.

Eileen was a Shop Assistant in Maryborough QLD when she enlisted in the RAAF in January 1943. She was an Aircraftwoman (Service No:101184) attached to 1 Air Observer School when she was Discharged in December 1944.

In 1945 Eileen married Eric Charles Manttan (b1910 in Brisbane, QLD) - Eric had also served in the RAAF (Leading Aircraftman; Service No:78167). The couple settled in Toowoomba QLD where Eileen died in 1965. Eric remarried and died in 1998.
