The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to page 271. Prior to the war he was a packer of Paddington NSW. He enlisted 26th Aug 1915 aged 18 years. He served with the 53rd Infantry Battalion. Unfortunately, he Died of Wounds 22nd July 1918. His connection with Nottinghamshire isnot known, but he is honoured on the War Memorial in Nottingham's  All Saints Church.

He enlisted 26 August 1915 and embarked at age 18  from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 2 November 1915.

He was 21 and the son of George and Alice E. Martin, of 26, Barclay St., Waverley, Sydney, New South Wales. His father's address as Next of Kin was given as  17 Stewart Street, Paddington, Sydney, New South Wales.

Arnold  served with the 53rd battalion Australian Infantry. He was wounded on 16th October 1917 - a gun shot wound to his left hand (mild) and admitted to the 29th General Hospital, he was discharged on  1st November 1917. He was wounded again , a gun shot wound to his chest and died at the 15th Casualty Clearing Station on 22nd July 1918.
