New Zealand born to a large family of 15 children - traveled to Australia and joined the Australia 6th Light Horse Regiment. He was severely wounded but remained with his unit until the end of the war. Len was one of six brothers that served in WW1, also Ernest who was killed at Messines, Harry who was killed at Messines, Arthur who was wounded at Messines, Percy and Norman who were severely wounded.
Of the six Orr brothers who served in WW1 – two paid the ultimate sacrifice.
