At the time of enlistment he was residng at Arthur Street, North Sydney, NSW.

Son of Edward Francis Vale and Jessie Weir Vale nee Johnston of Canning Street, North Carlton, Victoria.

Brother of Alexander Victor Vale who returned to Australia on 24 September 1916 having served with the 60th Battalion.

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
