Son of Frank and Emily Tyler of 39 Quebec Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England, formerly of 58 High Street, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England; brother of George William Tyler who was killed on 15 September 1916 while serving with the 17 Filed Ambulance of the Royal Army Medical Corp and has no known grave. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial Pier and Fave 4C
