"William James Rodgers. Information was received on Tuesday that William James Rodgers, No. 2980, had died of wounds on 30th September. This was the second occasion Private Rodgers, who was 25 years of age, had been wounded. The Rev. J. W. A. Mackenzie broke the sad news to the young hero's relatives who reside at Barcaldine Downs." - from the Barcaldine Western Champion 19 Oct 1918 (nla.gov.au)
