John (Jack) Taylor was recruited for the RAAF when the first Blue Train arrived in Dubbo during October 1940.
Jack Taylor prior to his enlistment was a junior assistant gardener at Victoria Park, Dubbo, employed by the Dubbo Council.
In a letter back home, that was published in The Dubbo Liberal and Macquarie Advocate newspaper on 27 July 1943, he mentioned that he had met up with two other RAAF servicemen from Dubbo, Ken Potts and Colin Edgar, in Bournemouth, England. Ken Potts and Colin Edgar went to school at Dubbo High School. John Taylor died on 5 September 1943 during a flying battle over Germany.
