Under Officer Betty Boneta Doyle (Service No:92517) enlisted in the WAAAF at No 2 Recruiting Centre Sydney on 29 September 1941 as an Aircraftwoman I. ACWI - mustered as a Drill Instructor - was attached to Station HQ Bankstown, Nos 1 and 5 WAAAF Depots, and was promoted to Under Officer on 1 June 1943. U/O Doyle was attached to 2 Personnel Depot (Staff) at Discharge on 30 November 1945.

Betty was born in Randwick, Sydney NSW in 1923, eldest of three children of John (Jack) Elwyn Doyle (b1901 in Peak Hill, NSW) and Caroline Annie Crowhurst (b1903 in Peak Hill, NSW). Jack and Caroline married in 1922 in Sydney, and settled in Peak Hill where Jack was a Farmer (their second chlld Bobbie died in 1927). In the early 1940s Jack and Caroline had purchased the Central Hotel in Orange, and in 1946 the couple was in Orange, where Jack was a Bookmaker. Caroline remained in Orange, and Jack settled in Sydney where he worked as a Labourer.

Betty was living in Randwick when she enlisted in the WAAAF and, in 1950 married John (Jack) Crawford McMahon (b1922 in Sydney, NSW) - Jack served in the Army  (Service Nos:N218192/NX111225) and RAAF (Service No:4299178) in WWII. Betty and Jack settled in Sydney, where they raised their family and Jack worked as a Contol Officer and then Pilot (Ansett Airlines NSW). Betty died in 2005 and Jack in 2020.
