Biography contributed

Son of Sylvester T WHITE, 44 Florence Street, St. Peters, New South Wales.

Sylvester is a veteran of the Second World War. He enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in May 1943 and completed training in Sydney before being posted to Birdum Wireless Telegraph Station in the Northern Territory. He later served in the North-Western Area Command Headquarters in Darwin. Sylvester was discharged in June 1946 with the rank of leading aircraftman.

After the war, Sylvester returned to his pre-war position at the Australian Tax Office. He married Hazel in 1949 and they raised their son Alan together. They now have 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sadly, Hazel died in 2018.

When Sylvester was younger, he played first grade cricket and was a leading wicket taker. He also enjoyed playing golf.

According to son Alan, Sylvester is a very conservative man with strong political views. He lived a very normal life with his wife, and they were very good parents.

Sylvester has always been active and strong willed, and that is the secret to his long life.
