Memorialised at Bowen General Cemetery
His Worship the Mayor received the following sad news on Friday last:—"Now reported killed in action 5th August, last, Gilbert Ernest Harris, 26th Battalion."
Private Harris, who had been missing for sotre time past, was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Harris, Euri Creek Hotel and a son-in-law of Mr and Mrs J. Grantham, Bowen.
