He was previously commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial  but the Official Point of Commemoration has been moved from the to V.C. CORNER AUSTRALIAN CEMETERY AND MEMORIAL, FROMELLES- France because he was killed in action [missing] at Fromelles.

He was 32 and the son  of Hugh and Julia Munro, of "Waterview," Woodford Dale, New South Wales.

Second Lieutenant Munro noted in his Attestation Papers that he was from Portree Scotland. Investigations have found this not to be the case with his Birth Records indicating his birth was registered in the area of Maclean, New South Wales, Australia. According to the Roll of Honour Circular completed by his mother, he was born in Woodford Dale, Clarence River, New South Wales.
