Son of Stephen Edward Orchard and Isabel Jane Orchard nee Lamb of Mount Korong Road, Iron Bark, Bendigo, Victoria.

Commenced return to Australia on 13 February 1917 aboard HT Ulysses disembarking under 12 April 1917

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

During 1929c Thomas married Ethel May Royals in Victoria as Thomas Edwin Orchard when remarrying he did so as Thomas Edward Orchard.
