Add my storyBiography contributed by Robert Wight
A labourer from Drysdale, Vic prior to enlistment, Pte Kilby embarked with the 3rd Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Medic on 20 May 1916. Whilst serving in France, he was wounded in action and evacuated to England. Due to the extent of his wounds, he returned to Australia on 3 July 1917 and was medically discharged.
His age as stated on his Attestation Papers (dated 30 March 1916) is 22 years and 11 months, however his age at death in June 1959, is given as 63 years, which would make him actually only around 20 years of age at the time of his enlistment.
