No details of his death, James Cooper was originally buried 1 mile west of Zonnebeke, Belgium, but his grave was subsequently lost.

His Mum received his effects in 1919, his father had died by then, she was living at Nyang Station near Moulamein NSW at that stage. Apparently a coach made the trip to the station twice a week from the train station at Swan Hill in Victoria.
