William Christopher RASHLEIGH was born in Ballarat, Victoria in 1891

His parents were Benjamin Francis RASHLEIGH & Elizabeth MAWBY

William died of wounds at Pozieres on 12th August, 1916 and is buried in the Puchevillers British Cemetery

On his headstone is the following inscription

                                   THE GREAT SACRIFICE

                    DEARER TO MEMORY THAN WORDS CAN TELL

                                           OUR SON
