49 years ago today, on the 8th November 1976, Driver Abraham Thomas Grabham, referred to as Tom, 10th Australian Field Artillery Brigade (Reg No-1642), labourer (Hoskins', Ltd), from Dark Corner, New South Wales and Newcastle?, N.S.W., was laid to rest at Sandgate Cemetery, age 82. ANGLICAN 1-07. 145.
Born at Sunny Corner, New South Wales on the 19th June 1894 to Abraham, died 15.7.1926, Portland or Sunny Corner, N.S.W., age 62, buried at Dark Corner General Cemetery, Lithgow, N.S.W., I don't believe son Harry has been memorialised here, from Dark Corner, N.S.W., and Willmott Grabham nee Curnow, died 4.3.1962, Newcastle, N.S.W. as Wilmot, age 94, mother of 7 sons & 2 daughters, 35 years a widow, sleeping at Dark Corner General Cemetery, Lithgow, N.S.W., from Dark Corner, N.S.W.; husband of Alice Mabel Grabham nee Corney or Johnson, married 1923, Lithgow, N.S.W., died 9.9.2003, Newcastle?, N.S.W., age 98, sleeping side by side, ANGLICAN 1-07. 143, Tom enlisted on the 8th August 1915 with the 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment at Holsworthy, N.S.W.
Embarked from Sydney on the 18th November 1915.
Disembarked 28.12.1915.
Admitted to hospital 7.2.1916 (mumps).
Transferred to 10th Australian Field Artillery Brigade 4.5.1917.
Wounded in action - 8.10.1917 (GSW or artillery shell wound right forearm, severe).
Commenced return to Australia 5.4.1918.
Tom arrived home on the 1st June 1918, being discharged medically unfit on the 12th August 1918.
Received all 3 War Medals.
Not listed on the AIF Project.
Mr. Grabham’s name has been inscribed on The Capt. Clarence Smith Jeffries (V.C.) and Pte. William Matthew Currey (V.C.) Memorial Wall.
I have placed poppies at Tom’s gravesite in remembrance of his service and sacrifice for God, King & Country.

Older brother Sapper Harold Grabham, born 11.10.1892, Sunny Corner, New South Wales, single miner (Hoskins', Ltd), from Rydal, New South Wales, enlisted 27.7.1915, 1st Australian Mining Corps, Reg No-118, KIA by enemy artillery shell fire, 6 p.m., 20.6.1916, age 23, Australian Electrical and Mechanical Mining and Boring Company, resting at Railway Dugouts Burial Ground (Transport Farm), Zillebeke, Belgium. Plot VI Row C Grave 43. No Roll of Honour circular submitted.
