Father  James Elisha Bond
Mother  Mrs  Sarah Ann Patrick – m. St Saviour Cross Green Leeds 1868.

On enlisting:  Mothers name:  Mrs Sarah Ann Parkinson, 11 Danby Street, off Cromwell Street, Leeds, England (10/8/1922).
In 1881 James was living with his grandparents in Garforth, Leeds

On his death circular:     Mother Mrs S A Parkinson, lived at 22 Wilkinson Street, Cromwell Street, Leeds UK
Sister Mrs Ada Smith of 15 Pape Street, Cromwell, Leeds, York, England.

As a seaman he had been to Australia many times.  He was last heard of by his family to be in Australia at age 39.

Previous service:          1 year 9 months British Royal Navy, UK as a Stoker.

Described on enlisting as 39 years 1 month old; single; 5’ 9” tall; 175 lbs;
dark complexion;  brown eyes; dark brown hair; Church of England.

The HMAT A68 Anchises weighed 10,046 tons with an average cruise speed of 10 knots or 18.52 kmph. It was owned by the Ocean SS Co Ltd, Liverpool, and leased by the Commonwealth until 12 October 1917.
