Herman (Harry) August Christian Birr/Burr/Durr are the names we know about for this uncle of my grandmother, Violet Maud Wilkinson.
His Birth Certificate states "Herman Birr" son of Hermann Birr & Johanna (nee Nemutha) was born at Millchester, Charters Towers Queensland on 26 April, 1880.
He wrote on his Enlistment Form for WWI "Harry Durr" although this was corrected later in WWI to "Harry Burr" but he was discharged as "Harry Durr".
He purchased a property on 6 September, 1921 at Halifax, Queensland as "Herman Christian August Burr".
He married Nellie May Adams (b. 1901, d. 6/8/1965) on 26 April 1921 and worked at Macknade Sugar Mill.
He died (senile decay) on 18/11/1951 at Ingham, aged 71 and was buried next day at Halifax Cemetery.
