Leading Aircraftman John Quill (Service No:80965) enlisted in the RAAF as an Aircraftman I on 10 June 1942 at No 4 Recruiting Centre Perth - mustered as Trainee Technical and re mustered as Flight Rigger. Leading Aircraftman Quill was attached to 77 Squadron at Discharge on 28 March 1946.

Jack was born in Collie, Western Australia in 1924, only child of John Thomas Quill (b1890 in Mooroopna, Victoria) and Ellen (Nell) Annie Symonds (b1894 in Albany, Western Australia). John (a Farmer) and Nell (a Shop Assistant) married in 1921 in Darkan, where they settled and raised their family and John was a Farmer in Darkan and Duranillin. John served in the Army WWI and WWII.

Jack was a Farm Hand in Duranillin in 1942 when he enlisted in the RAAF. Following Discharge, he returned to Duranillin, where he was a Farmer in 1956 when he married Marjorie Rosie Elson (b1925 in Wickepin, Western Australia) - Marjorie was a Nurse and worked at the hospitals in Wickepin and Collie. Jack and Marjorie settled in Duranillin, where they raised their family and Jack was a Farmer, and member of the Motor Cycle Club - racing competitively in the region. Jack died in 1989 and Marjorie in 2013.
