Son of Harry Seymour and Amy Constance BLAYDES of Kingswood, NSW

HE WAS A TRULY GOOD SON A SOLDIER AND A MAN PRO DEO REGE ET PATRIA

Second-Lieutenant Andrew M. D. Blaydes (killed) was the eldest son of Lieutenant Colonel and Mrs. Blaydes, of Kingswood, New South Wales, and was an old Fort Street boy.
He joined the 3rd Battalion of the 1st Infantry Brigade at its inception, as eolor-sergeant, served as quartermaster sergeant in Egypt, and company sergeant-major at the  Dardanelles, and was promoted to second lieutenant on the battlefield. Lieutenant Blaydes was a keen soldier and a successful rifle shot. A brother is now in camp at Liverpool.
