LIEUT. L. A. WARD.
KILLED IN ACTION.
News was received in Ipswich yesterday from Lieut.-Col. Luscombe to the effect that official notification had been received from headquarters that Second Lieut. Leslie Arnold Ward, 13th Reinforcements, 26th Battallion, who we previously reported missing, is now reported to have been killed in action on the 14th November 1916. The Mayor (Ald. P. W. Cameron), as requested, asked the Rev. B. Frederick to break the news to the deceased soldier's father (Mr. J. C. Ward), of that city. General regret will be felt at the death of another popular young Ipswich officer. It will be remembered that Lieut. Cyril Ward, another son of Mr. J. C. Ward, died, of wounds a few months ago.
