Andrew SWANSON was born in Skien, Norway around 1876.

Andrew SWANSON joined the AIF on 02.09.1915 and was allocated service no. 1658. He was posted to the 12th reinforcements, 3rd Light-horse. His age at the time was given as 38 years and a fisherman by occupation.

He was discharged as medically unfit on 24.08.1917. Received a war pension on his return to Australia in 1917.

Andrew died of accidental drowning at Tailem Bend on 20.01.1921 and was buried in the Tailem Bend Cemetery.

For 103 years he laid in an unmarked grave in the Murray Bridge Cemetery until his grave was identified by the Headstone Project of South Australia.
