Born Sydney Thomas Cracknell, he joined the Army 14/2/16 lying about his age, and using his mothers new married name of Fahey.
Departed Australia landing at Marseilles 28/3/1916, Sydney was killed in action as a teenager 17 years, 1 month, 16 days on 23 July 1916 in France, and buried in the vicinity of Pozieres. Villers-Bretonneux, Somme, France.
