He was 31 and the son of George Lewis Burn and Margaret Teresa Burn; husband of N. O. Burn, of "Almurta," Villamanta St., Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

His younger brother, Second Lieutenant Harold Thomas Burn, aged 27, also fell in France [ 23/12/1916] whilst serving with the 58th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.
