Son of James Brown Veitch and Catherine Veitch nee Sinclair of Janet Street, Maylands, SA.

On 22 September 1908 Lawrence married Elthel Cecilia Hallet at the residence of James Veitch of Evandale, SA. They divorced in 1919. At the time of enlistment he claimed he was a widower.

Commenced return to Australia on 28 March 1919 aboard HT Port Macquarie disembarking on 21 May 1919

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
