Son of Isaac Unsworth and Lucy Caswell Unsworth nee Read of 'Parkhurst', Warwick Road, Bowes Park, London, England. Brother of Roy Lovell Unsworth who returned to Australia on 24 November 1919 having served with the 2nd Pioneer Battalion

Address at the time of enlistment was Page Street, Albert Park, Victoria and was employed with the railways. He had previously served his electrical apprenticeship with W. Newton of Clapham, London, England.

13 July 1915 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria with the 2nd Pioneer Battalion and rank of Sapper.

21 April 1917 - transferred to the Army Service Corps with the rank of Private

22 March 1918 - transferred to the Australian Flying Corps.

Commenced return to Australia 9 December 1918 aboard HT Argyllshire disembarking on 1 February 1919

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

11 March 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District as medically unfit

During 1921c Isaac married Madge Falconer in Victoria
