12 Dec 1918: Honoured Military Medal, Citation reads: At Hanebeke Wood on 20th September 1917 this man during the first advance volunteered to assist the only stretcher bearer left in the Company to carry back a badly wounded man to the R.A.P. afterwards reporting back to his company. Commenced return to Australia (first time) in 23 January 1916 aboard HT Commonwealth due to Enteric Fever disembarking on 29 Febraury 1916. Returned to duty on 1 June 1916 before proceeding onverseas to England and marching into Woolwich on 13 October 1916

Commenced return to Australia on 18 Decembr 1918 aboard HT Argyllshire dismbarking on the 14 February 1919
