Brother of Daniel Sylvester O'Sullivan who returned to Australia on 5 September 1919 having served with the 35th Battalion

During 1908c Denis married Maggie Adelaide Joubert in Lismore, NSW. Maggie died in August 1909 in Lismore. NSW

Next of kin given as his daughter Maggie Adelaide (Peg)  O'Sullivan C/- Mrs. Kate McDermott, Lismore, NSW.

Commenced return to Australia on 16 January 1919 aboard HT Berrima disembarking on 17 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney by boat
