Biography

"ARCHIBALD VINCENT TROY. Wardell, Monday

Archibald Vincent Troy, aged 40 years, died suddenly this morning at his residence at Wardell. Deceased was a native of Wardell, and the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Troy, of Teven. He enlisted on August, 1915, and joined the 26th Battalion and served in France until the end of the war. On his return, he married Miss Annie Simpson, of Kyogle, and later settled on the land at Wardell. He is survived by a widow and three children — Kevin (17), Marie (15) and Nancy (10). The deceased had lived nearly all his life in Wardell and was noted for his cheery disposition. The remains were taken to the Roman Catholic Church this evening and the funeral will leave for the Roman Catholic portion of the Wardell cemetery at 2 p.m. tomorrow." - from the Lismore Northern Star 14 Feb 1939 (nla.gov.au)
