The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 66 + 269. Prior to the war he was a general merchant of Clayfield Qld. He enlisted 31 Jan 1916 aged 23 years. He served with the 9th Infantry Battalion, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant during that service. During his service as a Lieutenant he earned the Military Medal twice (Military Medal & Bar) for his activities. He survived the war, departing the UK for home 12th June 1919.
