Private Stevenson who was in command of a Lewis Gun Team skilfully worked forward from the company’s flank to a commanding position from which he succeeded in silencing the enemy strong point, thus considerably helping his company to continue its advance to the final objective. Whilst the work of consolidation was going on he again showed remarkable skill and courage in the handling of his Gun Team. The success of his company was largely due to his skilful and courageous work. | |
