Son of Ebenezer Verey and Emily Verey nee Pollard of Ballarat, Victoria. Brother of Harold William Verey who returned to Australia on 5 March 1919 having served with the 22nd Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 20 July 1919 aboard HT Morvada disembarking on 28 August 1919

Post war Eric became a member of the Albury RSL Sub Branch.
