Son of James C. Hoge and Margaret Hoge of Indooroopily, QLD.
Brother of James Crewe Hoge MC who returned to Australia on 27 July 1919 having served with the 9th Battalion and 1st Machine Gun Battalion and Paul Alfred Hoge who returned to Australia on 13 October 1919 having served with the 31st Battalion
Commenced return to Australia on 9 December 1919 aboard HT Borda

JOHN KENNETH HOGE, son of Mr. James C. and Mrs. Margaret Hoge, was born at Indooroopilly, Brisbane, on 4th February, 1895. He was educated at the Indooroopilly State School and the Brisbane Grammar School, and entered the service of the Bank on 20th August, 1912, at Brisbane.
He enlisted in October, 1914, and embarked with the 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance in December. He returned to Australia in May, 1916, and left again for the front in February, 1918, being attached to General Service Infantry Reinforcements. He was promoted to the rank of corporal in July, 1916; to that of sergeant in August; and received his commission as lieutenant in February, 1917. He returned to Australia in February, 1920, his unit then being the 25th Battalion.
