Edward George 'Eddie' Morris

Born on 3 March 1875 in Dunolly, Victoria. His parents were Edward Parker & Agnes Campbell Morris née Logan

He attended Scotch College from 1890 to 1891

Eddie was a labourer when he enlisted in the AIF on 13 October 1914 at Helena Vale (Helena Valley), Western Australia

He was allocated to the 16th Battalions, A Company & was with them when they landed at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915 where they garrisoned positions at Pope's Hill

A week later he received a gunshot wound to his head above his R/eye while attacking the 'Bloody Angle' on 2 May. He survived the GSW only to die of typhoid fever contracted in hospital a month later on 5 June at the age of 40y. Eddie left behind a wife & two children

Edward Morris is buried in the Chatby Military &War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria
