Zalmona Murray WATSON was born in Carlton, Victoria on 13th June, 1898

His parents were William Herbert WATSON & Alice LADHAMS

He enlisted in Melbourne on 4th July, 1917 & embarked with the 3rd Pioneer Battalion, 8th reinforcements from Melbourne on 21st November on the ship HMAT Nestor

After further training in Egypt & England he was transferred to the 60th Infantry Battalion on 5th February, 1918 and deployed to France in April 1918

Zalmona was Killed in Action at Morlancourt, France due to wounds caused by shell fragments to his chest & arm

He is buried in Mericourt L'Abbe Communal Cemetery Extension, Plot III, Row F, grave 11
