OBITUARY
Mr. George E. Phillips, Red Clffs
Following a short illness Mr.George Edgar Phillips, of block 43 Red Cliffs, died in hospital at Red Cliffs yesterday. Death was due to pneumonia.
Mr. Phillips, who was aged 42, was one of the first settlers in Red Cliffs and, being, a competent motor mechanic, he conducted a repair garage on his block for some years. He later became a partner in the firm of Langshaw and Phillips, whose garage was well known in Mildura, until the partnership was dissolved two years ago.
Deceased was a returned soldier, and suffered a good deal from the effects of war injuries. He was well known in Masonic circles and was a member of the Red Cliffs Bowling Club. He leaves a widow and son.
The funeral will take place today leaving the residence of his cousin Mr W. G. Hepburn, corner of Ninth Street and Magnolia Avenue, at 2.30 p.m.
