21 Knuckey sons fought in WW1 of which 3 died. Two KIA, one drowned and one died of wounds. James was born 1894 at Perranworthal, Cornwell and died 3rd May 1917 at Bullecourt France. Two brothers James and John left England came to Australia joined the AIF and were both killed. James, 4716 Private, 20th Battln killed in action 3rd May 1917 aged 23 years.
