The ground between O.1 and 91 was well lit by enemy flares and half the party were casualties from the enemy shell fire. Sergeant Cooper withdrew his men to cover and completed the sap himself under continuous fire. Son of Arthur Wellington Cooper and Emma Cooper nee Scholey of Clunes, Victoria
Husband of Ivy Cooper nee Irwell of Wandin, Victoria. Charles and Ivy married during 1909c in Victoria. Father of Eric Cooper and Una Cooper.
In 1921 Eric and Una were residing with Charles father in Bendigo, Arthur Wellington Cooper, as ther whereabouts of their mother was not known at that time.
Medals: Military Medal, 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal were issued to Arthur Wellington Cooper to be held in trust for his grandson Eric Cooper
