Son of James Thomas FEW, Corton, Upton, Lovell, Wiltshire, England
The death occurred in the Mooroopna Hospital on Saturday, after a short illness, of Mr Ernest Albert Few, a well known Stanhope resident. The late Mr Few, who was 60 years of age, was born at Hampshire, England, his parents being James and Clara Few. He came to Australia in 1912 and after a brief stay at Tocumwal he enlisted and served with the First A.I.F. On his return he settled at Stanhope,where he engaged in farming pursuits. He was a member of the Stanhope branch of the R.S.L. and I.O.O.F. lodge and for 17 years was on the committee of the Stanhope South State School, a position he relinquished about three years ago. During the last war he enlisted for garrison duties. Deceased is. survived by his widow, four daughters and one son, Clara, Daisy, Lois (Mrs C. Campbell), Betty and Anthony.
Burial took place at the Rushworth cemetery on Sunday. Prior to the cortege moving off from the Methodist Church, Stanhope, Rev. Hunter conducted an impressive service, and he also officiated at the graveside. Coffin bearers were members of the R.S.L. and pall bearers members of the I.O.O.F. Lodge.
